Bill Joy Biography

Bill Joy is an American business executive and a computer scientist. He was in 1954 and started his first major company, Sun Microsystems, in 1982. He founded the company alongside Vinod Khosla, Scott McNealy, and Andy Bechtolsheim. He worked as the company’s chief scientist from its inception until 2003. Joy has written extensively about what he believes to be the future risks to humanity. Joy believes that intelligent robots could eventually replace humanity and believes that genetic editing, nanotechnology, and robots are all morally dubious technologies. Joy wrote a now famous article in the publication Wired Magazine detailing his arguments.
