Dennis Crowley Biography

Dennis co-founded Foursquare, a service that helps people discover and explore their city through the use of social media and games.

This isn’t Crowley’s first project, however: he was also the founder of Dodgeball, which was brought by Google in 2005. Like Foursquare, Dodgeball was a mobile social service- one of the very first ones in the US.

Crowley has received multiple awards. In 2005 MIT Technology Review magazine listed him in its Top 35 Under 35. Some newspapers and TV stations have discussed his works.In 2009, Crowley took part into TV quiz show Family Feud and won the Fast Money bonus round.

Dennis obtained a Bachelor’s Degree at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. Crowley also received a Master’s Degree from New York University, as part of its Interactive Telecommunications Program: in fact, he currently works for that very same Program, holding the position of Adjunct Professor.
