James Gilmore Biography

Born 1949, James is an American Politician and former attorney. He is a native of Virginia, and he graduated as Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia. Gilmore was also in the army as a Counterintelligence agent. He finished from John Randolph Tucker High School and got an undergraduate degree from the Virginia University.He volunteered to serve in the Army and received training and preparation for the service in the Military Intelligence Corps. A decade after his degree from the University of Virginia, Gilmore got elected as the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Henrico County.He faced the Lieutenant Governor Don Beyer in a bid to succeed George Allen as Governor in 1997. His critical points for campaign points was that he was going to employ more teachers numbering about 4,000 and also removing the personal property tax on automobiles. He won 56% of the votes. And finally, in his first year, he pushed for the car tax reduction and got it passed by Democratic-controlled General Assembly.
