Jan Chipchase Biography

Jan Chipchase was born and raised in London, Brighton, and Berlin. He bags a BA in Economics and a Master’s degree in User interface Design from Guildhall University London. Chipchase is the founder of Studio D Radiodurans, a design, research and strategy consultancy firm that specializes in studying and understanding consumer behavior and reactions to emerging markets. Chipchase has worked with a lot of high profile organizations, he was the principal scientist at Nokia. In 2010 he joined Frog Design a research organization studying the effect of technology on different culture, with a focus on the long-term effect of technology on these cultures. He currently holds 25 patents granted and pending.Chipchase sits on the advisory board of top tech and financial organizations such as; Frontline SMS, Makeshift magazine and Pecha Kucha Foundation. He is top of the advisory boards of the Broadcasting Board of Governor’s Commission on Innovation.Some of his notable publications include; Mobile Money Afghanistan, in 2010 and insight into the nascent use of money through mobile phones. He has featured severally on TED Tokyo. Fortune magazine 2010 featured Chipchase in its magazine as one of “The smartest people in tech.”
