Janus is the multibillion CEO of notable global Internet companies such as Skype, Joost, and KaZaA. He was born in Denmark on June 26th, 1976. At a very early age Janus began teaching himself computer skills, and although he dropped out of high school, he got a job at cybercity an early Internet service provider (ISP) in Denmark, as a customer service attendant. In 1999 he was hired by Zennstrom to lead the customer service department of the Danish branch of Tele2, an upscale Swedish telecommunications firms, the steady collaboration founded Get2Net and Web Portal Everyday.com.In 2000 Zennstrom and Friis created KaZaA, a (P2P) peer to peer file-sharing app. However, the app was notorious loaded with malware, spyware, and adware just like the 2001 Napster which was later ordered to shut down for privacy infringement issues.Friis’s big break occurred after he introduced Skype in 2003. By 2015, Skype had over 50million users globally, with much of that quota located in Europe, Asia, and America. From then on he went on to develop Joost, another internet video service in 2006, Atomico Venture, an investment fund that sought out European tech companies, and Rdio and Vdio, a subscription-based music streaming service. He is estimated to worth over USD 1.3billion as at 2012.
