Jay Tenenbaum Biography

Jay “Marty” Tenenbaum is widely known as one of the pioneers of internet commerce. He was born in 1945 and has contributed immensely to internet commerce, and Artificial Intelligence. He bagged a bachelors and master’s degree in electrical engineering, he also has a Ph.D. from Stanford, he wrote a thesis in 1971 titled Accommodation in computer vision (1971).Among his achievements includes; being elected a fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence in 1990, he is the founder of Commerce Net a global commerce consortium (1994). He is the co-founder of Veo Systems, in 1999 he joined Commerce One as Chief Scientist after the company acquired Veo systems in 1999 the company that pioneered the use of XML for automating business-to-business transactions. Jay also served as the director of Webify solution before it was sold to IBM in 2006. In 2008 Jay founded and became the chairman of COllabRx.Jay has won several awards in science, asides being a Fellow at Stanford, he is also a fellow at the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence.
