He specializes in cyber and physical security, also in data protection and privacy, intelligence law, administration of classified information and facilities, and the regulation of sensitive cross-border transactions. He holds a JD from Harvard Law School, a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics, and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison he has a BA. He also was senior counsel at the National security AGENCY(NSA), advising agency leadership on the public-private effort to create better security for the internet. He was the head of U.S. counterintelligence from the year 2006 till mid-2009, under the director of National Intelligence and was responsible for integrating the counterintelligence activities of the 17 departments, and also the agency with intelligence authorities, which include the FBI and CIA and elements of the Department of Defence, energy, and Homeland Security. He was also the Inspector General of NSA from 2002 till 2006. With several of his experience, he now offers consultancy service for several security agencies.
