Sean Parker Biography

Sean Parker is a serial entrepreneur and a managing partner at the Founders Fund. As one of the three founders of Napster in 1999 Sean helped architect and manage the peer-to-peer file sharing application to become one of the largest on the net. Sean subsequently helped found and manage Plaxo a VC-backed contact management application company. More recently Sean worked as the Founding President of Facebook before moving on to join up with Peter Thiel at The Founders Fund a seed-stage venture capital firm. He launched his Parker Foundation in 2015 with $600 million earmarked for science, global health and civic engagement. In April 2016, his foundation announced a $250 million grant to establish the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. Sean also recently led the move to launch Causes a new developer application that organizes individuals' charitable giving on Facebook as well as contributing as an investor at Spotify. He is also a co-founder of Airtime reuniting with Napster co-founder Shawn Fanning at this social video company backed by Founders Fund.
